Columbia Gorge Community College’s Renewable Energy Technology (RET) program is a career ladder program offering a one-year Certificate (completed in three terms; nine months) and an Associate of Applied Science degree.
This program was designed in collaboration with industry partners from the wind energy industry and power generation industry: Acciona Energy North America Corporation, AES, B9 Energy, Black and Veatch, Bonneville Power Administration, Cardinal IG, enXco, Gamesa, Iberdrola Renewables, Insitu, Intel, Invenergy LCC, Portland General Electric, Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and Vestas.
The latest program news is that CGCC has received a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor that will allow the program to have two points of entry: spring term and fall term. Columbia Gorge Community College is recognized by the wind industry as one of the two premier training programs in the country. Students may transfer to the Oregon Institute of Technology to complete their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology.
