Depending on the admission status and successful completed number of courses, the Dept. of Electrical & Computer Engineering, it is possible for participants in the Masters of Engineering in Electric Power Engineering program to qualify for three professional development tracks as described below:
The trainees must be admitted in this GDip degree track and upon successful completion of six (6) courses with a minimum course average of 60% and a total cumulative average of 70% in the 6 courses, shall be eligible to receive a Graduate Diploma in Electric Power Engineering from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Waterloo.

It is an opportunity to acquire an industry-oriented graduate-level courses in Electric Power Engineering. The program is approved by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Waterloo. The graduate program participants are provided with three options according to their needs: * Master of Engineering (MEng) in Electric Power Engineering: Upon successful completion of nine courses, a participant is eligible for an MEng in Electrical and Computer Engineering-Electric Power Engineering. * Graduate Diploma (GDip) in Electric Power Engineering: Upon successful completion of six courses from the program, a participant is eligible for a Graduate Diploma in Electric Power Engineering from the University of Waterloo. * Certificate of Completion: All successful participants in a course receive a Certificate of Completion from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Waterloo. This option is suited to those industry participants who may want to update their knowledge on any specific subject without having to go through the whole graduate program. The maximum time limit for completion of the diploma and MEng degree requirements is 15 academic terms. Degree requirements must also be completed within 60 consecutive months (i.e., 15 consecutive terms) including terms in which a student is registered as inactive. All courses offered are delivered and managed in a multi-media e-Learning environment. Such interactive educational tools encouraging a learn-while-you-work philosophy. Fees The fees are paid per course. Each course fee is set by the university. It is recommended that for each course the student allows an additional CAD $150.00 for the text book.
